Quality Management

In order to ensure that our quality standards are continuously improved and the efficiency of our work flows is increased, Project Management Jülich introduced a quality management system (QMS) in 2004. This system was certified according to the DIN EN ISO 9001 standard in 2005 and is reviewed on an annual basis as part of an external audit. It is strategically oriented towards our guiding principles, business policy, and quality policy.

The quality management system means that we have an instrument at our disposal for controlling the processes involved in project funding, the National Contact Points for European research funding, the Government's Federal Funding Advisory Service on Research and Innovation, and the infrastructure processes. In doing so, the individual work flows are defined in terms of efficiency. A financial control system guarantees that quality standards are met, especially with respect to the key processes in the time required to process applications and with regard to advisory services. Defined indicators and time-series comparisons are used to determine the respective current quality standard and derive priority measures in order to improve the quality.

In addition, we regularly survey our clients, funding recipients, and our own employees. The results are directly incorporated into further development of the quality standards and in turn, the service philosophy.

Guidelines for quality policy

  • We meet our clients’ requirements reliably and efficiently, and are flexible and responsive with regard to their current needs.
  • Our quality management system ensures that we meet the requirements of our clients and potential applicants in the best possible manner. In order to optimise our work results, we are continuously developing the effectiveness of our QMS.
  • The analyses that we carry out as part of the QMS form the basis for the further development of structures and processes.
  • Our regular processes are standardised according to the QMS.
  • The QMS facilitates the cross-sectoral exchange of best practice examples and solutions that help us tackling particular challenges.
  • We design our organisational structures in a “sustainable and transparent" manner to ensure the successful implementation of our assignments.
  • Our human resources policy ensures that our assignments are efficiently and effectively implemented by qualified employees. We promote the potential of our employees through active human resources development, whereby we consider the personal strengths of each individual member of staff, as well as the strategic and operational requirements for furthering the development of our project management agency and for implementing our assignments. Our human resources development is realised in a social and sustainable manner which ensures a good work-life balance.
